প্রথম রাকাত: তাকবিরে তাহরিমা বলে হাত বেঁধে (ছেড়ে না দিয়ে) ছানা পড়বে। এরপর দু’হাত কান পর্যন্ত তুলে ‘আল্লাহু আকবার’ বলে হাত ছেড়ে দেবে। তারপর আবার দু’হাত কান পর্যন্ত তুলে ‘আল্লাহু আকবার’ বলে হাত ছেড়ে দেবে। তারপর তৃতীয়বার দু’হাত কান পর্যন্ত তুলে ‘আল্লাহু আকবার’ বলে হাত বেঁধে নেবে। অতিরিক্ত এই তিনটি তাকবিরের মাঝে তিন তাসবিহ তথা তিনবার ‘সুবহানাল্লাহ’ বলা যায় এই পরিমান সময় অপেক্ষা করা মুস্তাহাব। জামাত অধিক বড় হলে আরো অধিক সময় বিলম্ব করা যেতে পারে। তারপর ইমাম সাহেব ‘আউযুবিল্লাহ’ ‘বিসমিল্লাহ’ ‘সূরা ফাতিহা’ ও অন্য একটি সূরা পড়ে রুকু করবেন।
দ্বিতীয় রাকাত: এরপর দ্বিতীয় রাকাতের জন্য দাঁড়িয়ে বিসমিল্লাহসহ ইমাম সাহেব কিরাত পড়বেন “আলহামদু ও অন্য একটি সুরা পড়বে । কিরাত শেষ করে এরপর ৩ বার কান পর্যন্ত হাত উঠিয়ে ‘আল্লাহু আকবার’ বলে হাত ছেড়ে দেবেন। তারপর হাত না উঠিয়ে চতুর্থ তাকবির বলে রুকুতে যাবেন (ঈদের নামাযে রুকুর এই তাকবির ওয়াজিব) এই ভাবে ঈদের নামায পড়তে হবে।
টীকা: তারপর ইমাম সাহেব সরাসরি মিম্বারে না বসে দাঁড়িয়ে খুতবা পাঠ শুরু করবেন। পরপর দুই খুতবা পাঠ করবেন এবং মাঝখানে তিন আয়াত পড়া যায় এতটুকু সময় পরিমান বসবেন, এই বসা সুন্নাত। (সুত্র: দুররে মুখতার ১/৭৭৯ পৃষ্ঠা)
